Shortly after the release of Cruella, Disney was already preparing a sequel with Emma Stone. What could we expect from a second opus?

While it would seem that a sequel to Cruella is already in the pipes of Disney, we ask ourselves a lot of questions about it. With the studios being very happy with its success, both in theaters and on Disney + in the United States, this film could well be the start of a franchise.. Of course, it is still too early to have any information on a possible release or filming date. However, we can use the example of Maleficent, whose second opus was released only five years after the first. Cruella could therefore follow the same model, even if we are rather impatient to see Emma Stone again in the role!

As Craig Gillespie’s first film looked back at Cruella’s youth, a sequel could be inspired by Godfather 2, and contain both the past of it and its present. Otherwise, he could explore his connection to the Dalmatians further so that the cartoon is a logical sequel. In any case, there will surely be no second film without Emma Stone. We could also find Emma Thompson in the role of the Baroness, as well as Joel Fry and Paul Walter Hauser in Jasper and Horace, or even Kirby Howell-Baptiste in that of Anita Darling. We would like to see more about the unlikely friendship between the latter and Cruella, which is also little exploited in the animated film. Exploring their relationship further would be believable, since in the post-credits scene, it is she who offers Perdita to Anita. While waiting to have more information on the following, you can test your knowledge on the 101 Dalmatians.
