The length of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings has just been revealed, and it’s being compared to others in the MCU.
While the duration of Black widow was estimated at 2 hours and 14 minutes, that of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings has just been unveiled. Expected for September 1 in French theaters, we know that it will last 2 hours and 12 minutes, or 2 minutes less than Black widow. This is not surprising since before them Avengers: Endgame lasted almost 3 hours. In reality, the duration of this new MCU movie is average, since they all stretch over almost two hours, and are slightly lengthened by the post-credits scenes which are always so much talked about.
This duration can be explained by the introduction of new characters, including Shang-Chi, played by Simu Liu, still little known to the general public. We also know that we will find Benedict Wong in his role of Wong, introduced in Doctor Strange. This film will be the occasion for Marvel to take an interest in the Asian community, which is ultimately little represented in the MCU until then. We only hope that the film will not fall into the cliché and allow the audience a real discovery of the hero’s roots. However, we will have to wait until the start of the school year to see Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
