Do you want to fight against the rest of the world in Call of Duty: Warzone from your next-gen console? Good news: Raven Software has just announced that a dedicated PS5 and Xbox Series X | S patch is currently in development for Battle Royale mode.
Available since yesterday, season 3 of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, which will serve as a storyline conclusion as we announced to you recently, has arrived with everything a lot of new things to discover for gamers. Of course, the Battle Royale mode that accompanies it is not to be outdone and it has notably seen a new version of the Verdansk map, directly inspired by the 1980s, to appear. On this occasion, Raven Software, the studio behind Call of Duty: Warzone, revealed information extremely interesting to the team of Charlie intel : a PS5 and Xbox Series X | S version is currently in the works.
According to Amos Hodge, the title’s creative director, a “Dedicated technology team” is at work on this future next-gen patch whose objective will be to make the most of the specificities of new generation consoles from the game engine. Thus, the PS5 and Xbox Series X | S version of Warzone will be able to offer reduced loading times thanks to SSD or support 120 FPS. We can also assume that, like Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, the addition of ray-tracing or even features related to DualSense on the Sony console are on the program, although this has yet to be confirmed.
Hodge also clarified that the team is currently studying the possibility of adding a feature that allows players to change the field of view (FOV) on these versions. On the other hand, no date or even exit window has been shared for the time being. It will therefore be necessary to show a little patience before being able to get your hands on it, even if the Battle Royale is already accessible via backward compatibility.
