Want to enjoy the Resident Evil Village demo a little longer? Here is a little practical guide to reset the timer of your Steam version.
On May 7, the highly anticipated Resident Evil Village on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One and Stadia. To be patient, a one-hour demo is already playable, and this until May 9, 2021. Small problem, this demo is limited to one hour per save. However, for the lucky ones who play on PC, there is a method to reset the timer in order to extend the gaming experience. The solution comes from Leaves, a Steam user, who freely shared his find on the forum of the platform. To do so, you must therefore:
- Disable Steam Cloud for Resident Evil 8 Village Demo
- Download Steam Achievement Manager
- Delete local backup files in: Steam userdata \ 1541780 remote win64_save
- Launch Steam Achievement Manager and select the RE Village demo
- Delete achievements and statistics then confirm
By doing this, you are making Steam believe that you have not yet played the demo which will force the creation of a new backup and make you start at the start of the game. Be careful, the downside of this method is that you will have to repeat the whole process each time you want to restart the demo the latest from home Capcom. There is no doubt that such a trick is ideal for all fans of the saga who wish to take their troubles patiently until May 9.
