Ah, Resident Evil 4… A major installment in the franchise with new direction and revamped gameplay. Many games like Dead Space were inspired by it afterwards. And after several acclaimed remakes, Capcom tackles that of this opus acclaimed throughout the world. A first trailer was unveiled and the editorial staff was able to try it out during an extremely convincing preview. Unfortunately, an element has disappeared between the original Resident Evil 4 and this remake. Bad news that will break the hearts of players who love our doggie friends.
Rest in peace little dog, we will miss you
I’m talking to you about a time that people under 20 can’t know. In the original Resident Evil 4, Leon quickly crosses paths of a trapped dog. Our dear special agent sent to Spain to save the daughter of the President of the USA logically decides to release him.
Later, Leon crosses paths with El Gigante. As his name suggests, he is a monstrous giant, a human contaminated by the Las Plagas. During the confrontation, the dog saved earlier then comes to help our hero defeat this imposing threat!
Except that in the remake, it seems that this passage was abandoned as shown in this video concocted by IGN.

In the remake, exit this scene which becomes much more gloomy. As shown in the video above, the dog is already dead when Leon arrives on the scene. Suffice to say that seeing a dog cowardly killed bathing in a pool of blood does not please the players!
But this decision also shows that the Resident Evil 4 remake will undoubtedly effect many script changes. As with the Resident Evil 2 and 3 remakes.
The death of the dog will also cause a change in the confrontation against El Gigante. Don’t expect to see man’s best friend help us during this fight.
Resident Evil 4 Remake releases March 24, 2023 on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series.
