After Microsoft’s announcement last week, it’s Sony’s turn to sit down to dinner: the firm has just revealed the price, date and various new projects planned for the PS5, its next console. Summary of announcements from Sony’s latest presentation.
The past week was easily Microsoft’s. The American firm was able to unveil the price and the release date of its next consoles, the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. After all, it’s September, and next-gen consoles are slated to hit the market before the end of the year. In other words, it was about time! Nevertheless, Sony maintained the suspense for another week, before revealing the arrival of a new presentation for this September 16, at 10 p.m. And, as we suspected, we were finally able to have the information that interested us so much.
In addition to the many games that could be unveiled during this presentation, we were therefore entitled to the information that interested us the most: the price, and the date. Regarding this first, the PS5 is scheduled for release on November 12 in Japan, the USA, and other countries, and we Europeans will have to wait a little longer, since the console will not be available in our region on November 19. As for the price, here it is: the classic version of the console (allowing the playback of discs) will be available at 499 €, while the digital version will be displayed at 399 €. The classic Xbox Series X and PS5 will therefore have the same price, while the advantage clearly goes to Microsoft for the digital versions, with its 299 € for the Xbox Series S. In the meantime, impatient people can always get a PSN card worth 50 € for less than 42 € at this address.
