What can’t wait to discover Sam Heughan, aka Jamie Fraser, in season 6 of Outlander? The actor responds in an interview with his co-star Caitriona Balfe.
Could Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan be replaced by older actors in the Outlander sequel? This is the question we ask ourselves as their characters continue to age in the series, reaching the age of 50 in season 5. But fans rest assured, we will at least find the two actors for the season. 6. And like us, they are very impatient to start filming and some scenes excite them more than others if we are to believe their last words. In a cross interview, Caitriona balfe notably asked Sam Heughan the most awaited moment in this season 6 and it is linked with the healing of Claire. “When we leave Season 5 the whole family is broken. They’re together but they’re broken and Claire still has a bit of healing to do.”, explained the 40-year-old actor.
Caitriona Balfe nodded, stating that it was also one of the things she expected the most, “see how she copes with that and all the repercussions, and how the family as a whole is healing or helping her to heal”. The two actors both agreed that it will be a “very nice part of the story”. As a reminder, in the final episode of season 5 of Outlander, Claire Fraser is kidnapped, beaten and raped by Brownsville men before husband Jamie can come to her aid. This episode was one of the most traumatic of the series and this event is expected to have serious consequences for the evolution of Caitriona Balfe’s character. Will Claire manage to overcome this drama?
