We hoped that all of this was now behind us but unfortunately reality caught up with us very quickly. Hogwarts Legacy: Hogwarts Legacy, the famous game set in the Harry Potter universe, has officially been postponed by Avalanche Software which indicates that it needs more time for development.

After several years of rumors of all kinds as well as multiple leaks, Hogwarts Legacy was finally made official at the PS5 conference organized on September 16, 2020. If we still have very little information about it at the moment, we knew however that the Open world RPG developed by Avalanche Software and published by Warner Bros. Games was expected sometime in 2021. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case. The information has just been announced by the studio: Hogwarts Legacy has therefore officially been postponed to 2022, without further details for the moment.. Here is the press release issued for the occasion:

“We would like to thank fans around the world for the phenomenal response to the announcement of Hogwarts Legacy by our label Portkey Games. Creating the best possible experience for the entire Wizarding World and gaming fans is paramount to us, so we’re going to give the game the time it needs. Hogwarts Legacy will be released in 2022. ”

The hecatomb experienced in 2020, which could be described as the year of all postponements, is therefore not quite over. But once again: all of this is for the best. As a reminder, Hogwarts Legacy will immerse players in an entirely original story set in Hogwarts in the 1800s. Novelist JK Rowling is not involved in the project. It will also be possible to choose the House you want to go to at the start of the adventure as well as to improve the skills of your character (spells, fights, potions, etc.) as you progress. See you in 2022 to experience the game on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and PC and, we hope, in the coming months for a new preview via unpublished images and information.
