The next Battlefield is abandoning the traditional classes of the franchise for good for a whole new system? Specialists make a big splash in Battlefield 2042. Here are all the details.

Should we say goodbye to the 4 historical classes of Assault, Scout, Engineer and Medic from the Battlefield saga? Not exactly, but the system will still be fundamentally overhauled in Battlefield 6, now known as Battlefield 2042. Specialists are characters that depend on the old classes of the franchise, but are much more adaptable. According to its class the Specialist has a unique Specialty, and as a character he also has a unique trait (that no other Specialist has). Finally, the Specialist’s gear is fully customizable to allow players to create their own playstyle. When Battlefield 2042 launches, the game will count. 10 Specialists who will be able to navigate the huge battles with 128 players.

If we will surely see more thanks to the gameplay video from the next Battlefield, for the moment we only know 4 of 10 Battlefield 2042 Specialists. Note in passing that, as for the 7 maps of BF6, the number of Specialists available will increase over the months with the new content brought to the next game ofElectronics Arts. Here is the list of the 4 Specialists of Battlefield 2042 and their characteristics:

  • Maria falck (Support): Like all Support Class Specialists, Falck uses an S21 Syrette pistol to fire darts that heal or revive allies. Its exclusive trait revives allies with 100% health instead of 50%.
  • Piotr “Boris” Guskovsky (Engineer): The Specialty of the Engineer is to place an SG-36 turret that shoots all nearby enemies on sight. Guskovsky’s special ability gives his turret an aim boost and allows the turret to mark enemies for all allies.
  • Webster mackay (Assault): Assault-type Specialists have a grappling hook allowing more mobility on the battlefield. Mackay’s unique ability is to move faster as long as he continues to aim.
  • Wikus “Casper” Van Daele (Reconnaissance): A Reconnaissance Specialist manipulates a drone to mark enemies and use certain electrical devices. Van Daele’s personal trait is the use of a motion sensor to detect nearby enemies.
