Looking back, Gamora’s plan in Guardians of the Galaxy doesn’t seem like such a good idea anymore.
Avengers: Infinity War filmed Thanos’ conquest in order to harvest the Infinity Stones. This mission prompted the Avengers to unite against the Mad Titan, most of them unaware of what this dreaded supervillain’s plan was before he arrived on Earth. Indeed, very few superheroes were aware of the danger that Thanos posed. However, Gamora, the Mad Titan’s adopted daughter, had seen clearly in her father’s game from the moment she was introduced in Guardians of the Galaxy. If the character embodied by Zoe saldana did everything to prevent her from accomplishing her plan, she nevertheless made certain mistakes that favored the collection of Gems by Thanos. Like what Loki is not the only one to have faulted against Thanos in the film of the Russo brothers!
As she wanted to sell the orb to the Collector, Gamora realized the power that this Stone held and what its acquisition by Ronan, then Thanos meant to the Mad Titan’s quest. At the end of Guardians of the Galaxy, the Gem has been returned to the people of Xandar. However, this subsequently caused Thanos to wreak havoc on the planet. In view of all this, Gamora’s goal of keeping the Stone as far as possible from Thanos’ hands only made it easier for the supervillain to acquire it, while also promoting many atrocities. However, Gamora is not the only one to blame in this story since the separation of the Avengers in Captain America: Civil War had already somehow sealed their fate by the end ofAvengers: Infinity War !
